    Hersheypark: Season pass questions

    Post  tatertot3710 on Mon Mar 08, 2010 12:10 am

Hey! I'm going to be getting a Hersheypark season pass this year and I have a few questions:

    1. What kind of discounts are included in the 'value book'? I know you already have 15% off food and merchandise, but what kind of coupons are included in the coupon book?

    2. What is the difference betweeen buying the pass at the season pass center and ordering it online?

    3. Where is the season pass center located?

    4. How Long does the processing process take?

The only question I can answer you is that the center is located beneath the old museum, behind tram circle. That's at least where I remember it, unless they moved it.

I have had a pass for almost 10 years. It is worth it. After your third visit you paid for it. Hershey's passes are more expensive than other local parks, which isn’t right because Hershey does not have anymore to offer than the other parks.

    Benefits
15% discount on Retail and food
Free admission to Zoo America all year long
Free parking when Hersheypark is open
$10 off admission to Dutch Wonderland

Book Benefits The book has become thinner and thinner each year, but here are some things that are in it in 2010.
    3 bring a friend coupons for $32.95
1 coupon for $4 off a Hershey Bears game
1 coupon fo 20% off Highmeadow Campground
1 coupon for 10% off anything in Chocolate World

I have never bought my pass online, I have always gone to the SP center at the park. I think that there is a fee if you do it online.

Pass center is located to the left of the entrance underneath the old Museum

Processing is quick if there is no line, it can take a long time if there’s a line.

    Hope this helps

The booklet doesn't seem to offer you a whole lot. The only thing that is of interest to me is the bring a friend coupons and the Dutch Wonderland promotion. I do agree in that Hershey seems to be more expensive then other parks though. There really isn't a need to raise prices that much this season if they are making it more show/entertainment focused.

Although I won't be getting a pass this year, I've been planning a visit with some friends (2 have passes) and I have 2 questions about the coupons:

-Are they restricted as to which days you can use them?

-How many can you use per visit?

I am back! Finally joined this Forum. I enjoy it quite a bit thus far! I posted on the old forum under, uhh, OUnitProductions I think? Can't remember?

Nonetheless, I am getting my Season Passes this week most likely. I might get them Online, but I was also considering driving to Hershey. By what you described the Season Pass Office is in the park itself correct? Towards the entrance to the left side? After the tram circle? I was confused by this. The HersheyPark website doesn't describe it properly.

The season pass office is outside the park gates to the left of Tram Circle and underneath the old Hershey Museum building. There are signs pointing the way from the unloading side of Tram Circle. It's an extremely short walk from there, but it is out of view until you turn the corner. This is contingent upon it being where it always has been of course. I haven't heard of it moving.

After my visit last week it has me thinking about investing in the money for a season pass for next year. I looked at the website page for it and it didn't really give you a great explanation on what perks you recieve or mention a 15% discount on food or souvenirs, etc.

My question is does anyone know what I would get if I do buy a season pass?

Also, they want $210 for a pass that includes the rest of the 2010 season and 2011. That doesn't sound like a great deal at all. I'd rather stick to the basic pass for $122 or $132.

The pass for the rest of this year and all of next isn't a great deal, plus it doesn't even include Dutch Wonderland. I heard that you don't get as many perks as you used to. Could be wrong though.

Okay, I stopped by the Season Pass Office to see what I could find out about perks for 2011. Here they are:
-Discount on Food, Drink, and souvenirs.
    -Free Parking
-Stroller rental not included (for those with kids).
    -Free Admission for ZooAmerica
-Entry to all 2011 park events
-A coupon book with a few good deals such as ""bring a friend for $34.95". Let me add that the book was pretty thick.

That's pretty much all that I could remember right now.
Oh, here's another thing I've noticed. They have a rendering of the expansion that they were planning on doing back in the 1970s. Looked pretty cool too.

I am pretty much sold on the idea right now on getting a pass and it seems like it's a great deal. 2 visits will pay for it, and I can see myself visiting quite often. Very Happy

plus something they dont out right tell you is that u can park in the perfered parking lot in front of the old arena that is only when it is open. it is closed if there is anything in the areana or stadiem. Its something they dont tell you had to find it out by myself. i do love the season pass if you go and its to crowed u dont feel bad for leaveing especually since u didnt pay 50 some dollars. u can come and go as u please. Plus a good idea is to get a sovenier cup its like 799 but revilles are like 99 cents and if you use your discount theyre like 49 cents

The pass benifits are nothing now compared to what they used to be. For example, there were better discounts in the coupon book. What I miss the most is unlimited free admission to the Hershey Museum and Hershey Gardens during the summer.

If I had a job I would consider buying one. Living on Social Security doesnt give you alot of options. Hp Crazy and I get our summer tickets through the York Home Schoolers Association. Its cheap and affordable. If the prices on tickets go up for HP next year then the YHSA tickets will go up as well. Very Happy
