Hershey park in the Dark question

Post  FlyersFan on Wed Mar 23, 2011 11:09 pm

Is Hershey Park in the dark scary at all? Do they have any haunted houses or scary parts at all? I go to Orlando every year for Universal's Halloween Horror Nights and it gets a bit expensive. It is an amazing event though. I made the same type of thread for Dorney. Maybe with the pull of the board if enough people talk about it we could get Hershey to turn the arena into a giant haunted house. I know it's early but I started to plan my trip to Orlando and it gets me thinking about local Halloween events. Anyone else like that kind of stuff?

It's more of a "family friendly" event. You'll find hay bales, cornstalks and pumpkins throughout the park, as well as Treatville for the trick-or-treaters which is located in one of the catering areas. You'll also hear appropriately-themed music like Michael Jackson's "Thriller" but that's about it. They did try the Haunted Harvest seperate admission haunted house back in 2004 with plans to bring it back in 2005 but cancelled it because they wanted to stick with the family-friendly theme.

Dorney's Haunt event is alot more scarier come the evening. I think it's milder during the day though.

    Hope this helps.

That helped a lot. Thank you. I guess I will still go to Orlando and leave the little one with Grandma then. There event is extreme to say the least. I will just bring my son with me to Hershey then when I go there. I will just make Orlando a trip for my wife and me this year and make Hershey a family outing. Thanks again.

It's more of an October to Thanksgiving theme then it is Halloween. A lot of the stuff you would see on people's porches during the fall is what they have as scenery, plus some Halloween theming, but not too scary.
I know that the Fright Fest or what it's called at Great Adventure is a great time. I've done it once before - it's fun to see all the people dressed up.
